God identified Jesus as the one who would be the sacrifice for human sin – the one who willingly gave His life and shed His blood – a veritable sacrificial lamb – to pay for the sins of the world.
God proclaimed this Jesus to be unique – His only begotten son, who is both His son yet one with Him, a man who was fully human yet divine, fully human, yet without sin. The only human who ever and alone forever would be qualified AND able to pay the price for human sin.
